PCHA actively develops and facilitates the development of affordable housing communities to serve residents with diverse income levels. Our goal is to meet critical housing needs while fostering inclusive neighborhoods that uplift entire communities.


🏢 Preservation of HUD-Assisted Housing

The acquisition of existing properties with project-based agreements allows PCHA to preserve valuable HUD-assisted housing in Pinellas County. These investments help ensure quality, stable housing for residents with the most modest incomes while maintaining long-term oversight and compliance.

We consider all project-based opportunities, regardless of size, that align with our mission and values.


📊 Market Rate Acquisition Opportunities

PCHA also evaluates market rate acquisitions when it is in the best interest of both the agency and the citizens of Pinellas County. These opportunities may include:

  • Existing Apartment Communities 🏘️ – Must be in overall good condition, or strategically located and priced to justify acquisition with rehabilitation, or acquisition with demolition and new construction.

  • Land Parcels 🌍 – Should have entitlements in place to allow for at least 100 apartment units.

  • Strategic Locations 📍 – Properties with access to schools, transit options, proximity to other PCHA-owned or managed communities, or areas with severe affordable housing shortages may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
