PCHA Participates in Homeless Veterans Stand Down

The Pinellas County Housing Authority participated in the Stand Down for Homeless Veterans event on March 30, 2019. The event was held from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, located at Bay Pines VAHCS, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL  33744.

The Stand Down event aimed to assist homeless Veterans in numerous ways; first by providing housing information as well as many other resources, screening for substance use disorders and PTSD, providing flu shots, educating Veterans about their VA benefits, enrolling Veterans for VA benefits and healthcare services, fostering an environment of camaraderie with other Veterans, informing Veterans about community resources available to them; including job and educational resources, and lastly, by providing an opportunity for our Veterans to feel appreciated.

If you are a property owner with available housing for homeless veterans or a Veteran who may benefit, please contact Carrie Meo-Owens at (727) 398-6661 extension 15366.
