Pinellas County Housing Authority Presents a Section 3 Workshop for Contractors

The Pinellas County Housing Authority’s Resident Services Department will conduct a Section 3 workshop for contractors on Thursday, April 19, 2012.  All contractors are encouraged to attend.

Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, commonly referred to as Section 3, requires that recipients of U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds, to the greatest extent possible, provide job training, employment, and contract opportunities for low- or very-low income residents in connection with projects and activities in their neighborhoods.

Pinellas County Housing Authority and Community Service Foundation Announce Free First Time Homebuyer Workshops

PCHA has partnered with the Community Service Foundation to offer free First Time Homebuyer Workshops at the Pinellas County Housing Authority’s Central Office, located at 11479 Ulmerton Road in Largo.  The two-part seminar series will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.

By participating in the First Time Homebuyer Workshops, participants will learn about the available programs that can assist with down payments and closing costs, as well as the role of realtors and how they can provide guidance to the homebuyer.  

PCHA and Community Service Foundation Announce Free Household Budgeting and First Time Homebuyer Workshops

PCHA has partnered with the Community Service Foundation to offer free Household Budgeting Seminar’s at the French Villas Community Room located at 5436D 54th Avenue North in St. Petersburg.  The two-part seminar series will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, 2012 and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012.

By participating in the budgeting seminars, participants will learn how to complete a budget plan based on household income and monthly expenses. The budgeting seminars are for anyone who desires to save money and gain better control over their finances.

PINELLAS COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY HOLDS SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS FOR PUBLIC HOUSING RESIDENTS

Today, PCHA held the first of a series of Small Business Development Informational Workshops to conduct self-assessments and to share valuable information about the local business development centers such as the Pinellas County Economic Development Center and the City of St. Petersburg’s Business Assistance Center.  Both provide consulting and training designed to teach prospective and new entrepreneurs the basics of starting and successfully operating a business.
