Welcome Home PFC Clifford

PFC Clifford and daughter Kathy as they arrived home at the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport

Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living Community recently welcomed home PFC Donald Eugene Clifford from his visit to the War Memorial in Washington, DC. PFC Clifford, an Army Veteran of World War II, along with 79 other local wartime veterans traveled to Washington, DC with the Honor Flight of West Central Florida.

While in DC, they toured our nation’s capital and visited the War Memorial with Representative Gus Bilirakis. Accompanying PFC Clifford on his tour was his daughter Kathy Mulrennan. PFC Clifford, a Buffalo native, completed basic training at Camp Swift in Texas prior to his assignment to the 1st Platoon, Company B, 97th Quartermaster Battalion (Bakery), 3rd Army. PFC Clifford’s missions took place on the field where Quartermaster Battalion, 3rd Army was responsible for transporting and setting up ovens and baking equipment for the soldiers on the battlefield. PFC Clifford was honorably discharged from the United States Army in April of 1946.
