PCHA to Host Pinellas County’s Farm Share

Pinellas County Commissioners joined by community partners will host a free product and food distribution event on Friday, April 12, beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the parking lot of the Pinellas County Housing Authority. The event is scheduled to run until 11:00 a.m., or while supplies last. Anyone in need of assistance with grocery necessities is welcome to attend.

Farm Share is a non-profit organization dedicated to the distribution of nutritious foods to those in need. It serves as a link between farms with surplus produce and social service agencies in Florida and throughout the southeastern United States.

Pinellas County’s involvement in the Farm Share program is a part of a continuous effort to ensure public well-being by distributing healthy foods to citizens most in need. The giveaway will feature drive-thru and walk-up distribution of fruit, vegetables and other nutritious food. The agency fair will feature county departments as well as other community organizations providing information to residents.
